RebulaĀ is a Slovenian indigenous grape variety that found its home in Brda in the 12th century. The oldest preserved record dates back to 1336, which says that Henrik from Rittersberg bought a vineyard that produces 6 buckets ofĀ rebulaĀ per year.Ā RebulaĀ was considered to be a modest and simple wine in the past as the vine has withstood heavy loads, it grows on "opoka" - marl or flysch soils, and gives extraordinary results in sunny positions.Ā RebulaĀ has grown from a simple wine to the protagonist of Brda. We know it as fresh, in sparkling wines, matured in barrels or amphorae, as well as macerated - orange. Golden yellow grapes yield a wine ranging from straw yellow to amber tones.Ā
