Idrija has always been considered an important centre of lacemaking knowledge, from where the skill of designing and producing bobbin lace art spread throughout the world.
Through centuries of work in this field, it has made a name for itself and earned a place on the European map of lacemaking centres.
Its lace has established itself as a recognizable type of handmade bobbin lace, which has evolved technologically and aesthetically over time, changing and adapting to market needs, which has also led to its exceptional richness and diversity. Today, innovative products are being developed in Idrija based on traditional knowledge, placing Idrija lace in contemporary fashion and handicraft trends. While respecting tradition, the lace motif from Idrija also appears on our socks with youthful approaches.
